We are happy to invite you to participate in the VI annual professional conference for developers of highload systems HighLoad++ that takes place on October 22 and 23 at the conference hall of Radisson SAS Slavyanskaya Hotel, in Moscow. The purpose of the conference is a professional growth of the participants, obtaining practical knowledge in different spheres of design, development, QA, administration and support of highload and complex systems, as well as finding new useful connections.

During the last few years we have been studying in detail everything that you would can call standards in complex web projects development. Today three—tier model, horizontal scaling, replication, sharding, nginx and memcached are well known to all developers. The handout at Highload++ will include the book Standards of Highload Systems Architecture.

At 2012 conference we will again discuss new architectures, concepts and approaches in large developing projects. Here is an approximate topic list for HighLoad++:

Architectures:
— Design: scalable and fault—tolerant architectures with examples of working solutions; 
— Mass service systems and their algorithms;
— Programming languages: PHP, Perl, Java, Erlang, Ruby;
— Technologies: BigIP, DSP programming, parallel computing;
— Russian development: quick web servers, application servers, template engines, monitoring systems;
— Vertical and horizontal scaling.

Databases, Storage Systems:
— Databases, vendor database optimizations, data storage, replication, sharding;
— Cluster file systems, network file systems;
— Non—relational databases.

Management:
— Development of highload projects;
— Business management, staff recruitment, price policy, development process organization, cost estimation of highload projects.

System administration:
— Support, monitoring, deployment;
— System administration; operating systems (Linux, Solaris, FreeBSD), operating system tuning;
— Hosting, DDOS protection and arrangement;
— Internet infrastructure: ISPs, backbones;
— Hardware, specialized equipment;
— Load balancing.

Adjacent areas:
— VoIP, large billing systems, uninterruptible service systems;

Quality Assurance:
— Functional and load testing;
— Security;

The Program Committee will choose topics of the Conference based on the presentations received.

About Organization

This year, Highload++ takes place in a new venue, much more spacious than last year. We expect about a thousand participants. The number of report streams has not been defined yet. But there are likely to be more of them – three presentation streams and a master class stream.

Increased amount of participants means we will have to do far more accurate work on all the organizational issues. At least the registration process will be automatic. Also, Profyclub members will be registered out of turn! 

Ask the Expert

Usually we invite gurus to our events. These are people whose presence at the conference will be beneficial for all participants. After all, our main aim is to make the event useful and valuable for everybody. This year we are going to arrange the “Ask the Expert” zone, where you can discuss issues with top pros of the Runet. For example, at the spring RIT++ the Korean speakers have been asked about CUBRID database during all 2 days.

Automatic presentation processing system

In the nearest future we are going to launch an automatic system processing reports and presentation. The innovation may be insignificant for public but hopefully it will improve the quality of presentations. The speakers will be able to receive reviews and work with members of the Program Committee immediately. Reviews, comments, advice from experts will let them adjust their presentations, get rid of commonplaces and leave only the most interesting part!

Also, this year Highload++ Conference is bilingual! We will provide both Russian-English and English-Russian translation!
